Capella Fahoome

Capella Fahoome is the Founder and Managing Partner at The Mattering, a people-centric management and leadership development group. Capella has been influencing the organizational culture of the film industry for over 20 years and is committed to the relational experiences of creators. She coaches and consults with organizations to optimize performance through nurturing environments that enhance relationships. Her strengths include positive leadership, mattering, building trust, fostering creativity, stimulating engagement, and sharing best practices for managing and developing Generation Z.
Capella is an Assistant Instructor in Humanities and Human Flourishing at the University of Pennsylvania and hosts the leadership podcast When Is Now, featuring candid conversations with thought leaders and creators who empower people to empower others.

Her films include Don’t Stop Believin’: Everyman’s Journey, a feature-length documentary about the 80s band, Journey, and their new lead singer, Arnel Pineda, whom the band members discovered on YouTube. Don’t Stop Believin’ premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival and was also featured at the San Francisco International Film Festival and the Silver Docs Film Festival. It won audience awards at Traverse City Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival, and New Hampshire Film Festivals and made an international premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival. The film was selected for the American Film Showcase, a joint program of the Department of State’s Bureau of Education and Cultural Affairs and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. The film was released in theaters and broadcast on PBS on POV/Independent Lens Indies Showcase, Netflix, and Amazon Prime, and is currently in development for a scripted feature.

Capella grew up in Detroit and attended Detroit Public Schools; she graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.A. in Psychology and received her Master of Applied Positive Psychology and Master of Philosophy in Organizational Dynamics with a concentration in leadership coaching from the University of Pennsylvania. Capella is a leadership coach with qualifications and certifications to administer and evaluate psychometric assessments and predictive indexes.
